Pre-Stamp Cover, 1854, Bombay to Madras, Letter posted from Bombay to Geerdhar Dass Govind Dass in Madras, Postage paid 10As., postmark of dispatch on the front side of the cover in Red ink that reads in a three-line compartment as “BOMBAY | 1854 APR 6 | Paid 10”. Three different postmarks are visible on the back of the cover, a three-line postmark in a rectangular box in Red ink that reads “G.P.O. | 1841 JUL.12”, a postmark of A.M. in Black ink square, which denotes that the letter was delivered in the first half of the day, and lastly an un-deciphered three-line postmark in Red ink box, exhibit cover, excellent condition, Very Rare.
