Green buckram with gilt borders; embossed gilt lettering and floral design on spine. Beveled boards shows some rubbing along edges and gilt borders; corners worn. Spine is bumped lightly at head and tail; gilt type and decoration are intact. Gilded page edges, yellow endpapers. Heavy age toning of half title and last free endpaper due to pastedown glue; textblock is otherwise fine, with bright, fresh leaves. Beveled-edge boards exhibit moderate soiling and minimal wear. Spine is soiled and shows minimal shelfwear. Interior pages are unmarked, clean, bright, and very fine. Thirtytwomo, 59 pages; numerous color illustrations by the author. Gray boards with green lettering on cover and spine; color illustration laid down on the upper board. Heavy creases to upper cover; moderate wear to corners and board edges. Spine is moderately worn at edges and ends. Pictorial endpapers. Hinge is a bit loose; textblock is fine with fresh, clean leaves; a few minor creases throughout. This is one of the early copies, with the final "n" missing from the word <I>London</B></I>, on title page (has been penned in by a previous owner).
