3 BRITISH & BRITISH STYLE SWORDS.

1) M1796 CAVALRY. Overall length: 42". Blade length: 34 1/4". This appears to be a well made copy of an M1796 British Heavy Cavalry Troopers sword. It has a plain blade w/ a single wide fuller & is stamped near the ricasso w/ a crown over “4”. The spine of the blade is marked, “T.S. RUNH_ _ SOLINGEN”. Lg. circular flat handguard w/ oval & semi oval piercings. Plain, cupped knuckle bow & plain backstrap w/ ears on each side. Leather grip. Iron scabbard marked, “OSBORN & CO BIRMINGHAM”. CONDITION: sword shows light to moderate wear overall. Grip has some loss of finish.
2) NAVAL SWORD. Overall length: 37 3/4". Blade length: 32 1/2". This sword is likely put together from several different sword parts. The blade is not terribly old & is completely plain. The hilt is brass & appears to have significant age to it. It has a plain crossguard w/ stamped anchors on the languets. The grip is aged replacement leather w/ new wire wrap. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has light gray finish w/ mottled oxidation. Brass is acquiring a mustard patina.
3) COURT SWORD. Overall length: 36". Blade length: 31". A nice example of a late Victorian officer’s court sword. Blade is etched over half its length w/ arms & foliate motifs. Downturned clam shell guard has a crowned “VR” applied in the center. 4" Crossguard w/ lightly embellished knuckle bow. Crowned pommel & wire wrapped grip. Original brass mounted leather scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows a sm. amount of spotty oxidation. Hilt is a bit loose. Crown pommel is slightly crushed. Scabbard has an electrical tape repair in the center. (02-16673-17/BF). $600-850.
