Estate-Fresh Group of Three Naval 1852 Swords. Includes a US Coast Guard Gilt Brass Sword with wire-wrapped shagreen hilt, USCG Marked Cross guard, German Etched Steel Blade with USCG and USN markings along with Star or David and "Proved" Medallion inset. Leather and brass scabbard (leather loose and dry, wear to gilt). 37" OAL. Overall Very Good finish on sword with some settled polish remnants, scabbard leather is poor but present. Together with a Hortsman & Sons USN 1852 pattern Gilt Brass mounted sword with Shagreen and wire-wrapped hilt, Etched Blade with USN on both sides, and Iron Proof mark. Very good+ matching scabbard, some gilt losses, but overall Very good to Excellent overall condition. 34" OAL. Also a named early 20th Century US Navy Sword by N. M. Ruddy of New London Conn. Wire-Wrapped and Painted Sharkskin hilt. Blade marked with USN insignia, and Fouled Anchor. Named inscription for Dr. T. Soltz. (Noted as Graduation from Jefferson Medical College in 1911). Includes matching black leather and gilt brass scabbard. blade and scabbard condition is very good+, this sword shows lots of gilt loss and wear, but no damage. 34.5" OAL.
