This 2pc set includes two variations of the Dick Turpin jug. The first piece (D6528) features a horse handle, a mask covering the eyes, and was produced from 1960 to 1981, designed by Charles Noke and Harry Fenton. The second piece (D5485) has a pistol handle and was issued between 1935 and 1960, designed by David B. Biggs. Dick Turpin (1705-1739), a notorious highwayman, is depicted in these jugs, with one version showing the mask on the brim of the tricorn hat. Dick Turpin's life was marked by his partnership with fellow highwayman Tom King, who betrayed him before his execution in 1739. The tallest piece measures approx. 7"H.
