Moorcroft pottery bowl and lid decorated in the Anemone pattern, introduced during the Walter Moorcroft era in the mid twentieth century. The design displays vibrant tube lined anemone flowers in shades of red, blue, and violet against a rich green ground, with the lid centered by a domed knop. Both base and lid retain the gold paper label printed Moorcroft Potter to HM the Queen, referencing the Royal Warrant granted to Queen Mary, together with impressed Moorcroft and Made in England marks and painted signature. A compelling example of modern Moorcroft art from a high demand designer era. Decorated in vivid tube lined detail with bold floral motifs, the Anemone design symbolizes anticipation, renewal, and the vitality of spring. The tube lined decoration reflects the Florian tradition established by William Moorcroft at the turn of the twentieth century, where raised slip outlines and translucent glazes created the glowing floral style that remains the hallmark of Moorcroft design.
