2nd Variation Lahti L-35 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #4366, 9mm, 4.7'' barrel, blue finish, brown checkered plastic grips with VKT logo, cut for shoulder stock, with rounded Loaded Chamber indicator; early narrow upper receiver marked ''VKT/L-35'' with yoke locking piece and protrusion eliminated; with etched letter ''E'' to right side of trigger and takedown latch. Produced from 1941-1943 in serial range 3700-4700, with estimated production approx. 1000. All Lahti pistols were uniquely designed with a slide accelerator to aid in their operation in severe cold weather. This type pistol, as well as the First Variation, was used in the Russo-Finnish Continuation War. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 98%+ Finnish military blue, with most of the losses as very minor thinning at high edges and some micro-scratching. Grips are crisp. Action is tight, bore is mirror bright. An excellent example of a very difficult-to-obtain European service pistol with only approx. 1000 produced. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (C&R)
