2nd Model 1860 Henry Rifle, by New Havens Arms, #8444, .44 RF cal., 24'' barrel, blue finish, brass frame, walnut stock, with sling swivels, as originally mfg'd in February 1865. This rifle is fresh to market and has been in the same family for many years, with all correctly indexed buttstock screws, correct rear sight, and falling within the range of serial numbers issued to the 3rd Regiment U.S. VeteranVolunteers. Condition is very good to fine retaining approx. 40% blue in protected areas of barrel with the balance having toned brown. Frame with mostly sharp corners and very tight fitting sideplates, appearing original and unremoved since new. Lever, trigger, and hammer have toned, yet hammer shows light visible traces of case colors. Rear sling swivel to left side of buttstock rotates on both axis freely and shows moderate general toning. Rear sight has fracture at top of ladder just beneath screw. Correct front German silver sight with light deformation. Action is good and functioning, bore is good to very good and should clean somewhat. Est.: $20,000-$30,000. (Antique)
