Offered in this lot is a rare English Goldsmiths of Liverpool Fusee movement from the Napoleonic era.

Verge chain driven fusee pocket watch made by Goldsmiths of Liverpool and beautifully hand engraved with case number 1692.

I believe this watch movement dates prior to 1815, maybe even earlier than 1810. Just a guess though.

Watches from this period with the fire-gilding to the movement in such beautiful condition are very uncommon.

The movement is in beautiful condition and shows richly gilded full plate in crisp condition.

Professionally hand engraved and carved rococo style back plate and other components, with further gilded decoration on the regulator plate with finely pierced and decorated balance cock.

The movement signed Goldsmiths of Liverpool and number 1692 date this movement to the early 1800s. Prior to 1815.

The watch is key-wind, there is no key movement size is 45mm in diameter.

The dial plate appears to have a couple replaced screws as they are not blued like most of the original screws.

Condition overall looks sound, selling case and movement as is.

Please refer to all pictures for further information and condition.

Not every day, you run across such an old pocket watch, few survivors out there, I do believe this one is very much a contender for becoming a complete working unit in the right hands.
