RED PLANET (2000) - Dr. Quinn Burchenal's (Tom Sizemore) Light-Up Spacesuit and Helmet - Dr. Quinn Burchenal's (Tom Sizemore) light-up spacesuit and helmet from Antony Hoffman's Red Planet. Dr. Burchenal wore his spacesuit and helmet as he crash-landed on Mars with Lieutenant Ted Santen (Benjamin Bratt), Dr. Chip Pettengill (Simon Baker), Dr. Bud Chantilas (Terence Stamp), and Robby Gallagher (Val Kilmer) after solar flares caused radiation to shut down the spaceship and Lieutenant Commander Kate Bowman (Carrie-Anne Moss) stayed behind on the ship.

This lot consists of a blue painted polyester bodysuit; a blue painted canvas harness; a blue painted dense rubber chest covering with metal detailing; blue painted rubber boots; a blue painted dense rubber helmet with vinyl decals, a clear acrylic mesh backing, a yellow acrylic visor, a white and red leather cap marked "Tom. S.," a leather-wrapped metal and dense rubber ear piece; and a dense rubber and foam connector piece marked "Sizemore." The spacesuit comes mounted to a mannequin on a custom-made display stand of a metal and acrylic grate and features the film title across the bottom. The suit and helmet light-up with the power pack on the backing; the button powers lights on the chest covering, and the switch illuminates the helmet when the cables are connected. This lot exhibits chipping and flaking paint, as well as peeling vinyl and cracking dense rubber on the helmet. Dimensions: (display) 20" x 30" x 68" (51 cm x 76.25 cm x 172.75 cm)
