This is an outstanding and very large 25.36 carat Tanzanite & Diamond necklace set in platinum with GIA and AIG paperwork. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The necklace pendant shows a solid platinum construction set with a phenomenal natural octagonal (rectangular) step cut Tanzanite stone in a rare AAA+ quality with a fine eye clean clarity type I, strong Bluish Violet color with good cut being a very large 25.36 carat weight. The pendant shows a total of 56 round brilliant channel set diamonds in a rare VS1 to VS2 clarity, D-F color and total weight of 0.59 carats. The pendant is marked ORIANNE and PT950 and is on an 18-inch-long platinum chain link necklace. The piece comes with a G.I.A. (Gemological Institute of America) and an AIG (American International Gemologists) gemology report and appraisal confirming the above information and giving a value of $68,230.00. The piece has a weight of 27.95 grams.
