CDV of Edwin H. Fenton of the 24th Connecticut Infantry, Company I. Bustview with unusual decorative oval frame printed on cardboard backing. Large ink signature and inscription to verso: “E H Fenton / New Haven, Conn / Just Returned From the ‘War’ / Sept 20th 1863.” Fenton mustered into service on 18 November 1862 and mustered out on 30 September 1863. The regiment fought at Irish Bend and Port Hudson. Card shows scattered soiling and foxing. Image itself is somewhat dark. Very good condition.
