225: Rare Pre-Columbian Sican Gold Crown Elements
Peru, ca. 800 AD - 1200 AD. A matched set of three high karat sheet gold crown ornaments of rectangular form, each decorated with a bird standing between two stepped elements. Two of the birds are looking to the left and one to the right. The lower portion is decorated in relief with three small snake-like elements and double line borders. Perforated along the lower edges for attachment. Areas of red-brown patina. Mounted in a custom, lidded display box.

Dimensions: Each measures 2”W x 2-1/8”H.
