Wheeler & Son flintlock trade gun, .68 caliber. The musket is in very good condition with a 36” barrel with a full-length wood ramrod with a metal tip. The barrel and lock have gone to a dark brown patina with some light surface erosion near the muzzle. The tang and butt plate are brass. The side plate is marked, “WHEELER & SON” with a fox in a circle emblem. The smooth wood stock is in good condition withan old repair under the side plate. Robert Wheeler & Son were known for manufacturing and selling Northwest Trade guns in the early to mid-19th century. Est.: $750-$1,500. (Antique).
