Winchester 1866 Flat side Saddle Ring Carbine with Henry’s Patent marked barrel S/N 14412. This carbine remains in very good condition with 30%-50% original blue mixed in with a brown patina. The frame is good and tight onthe edge of side plates and good edges showing only minor aging with only slight marks and aging (Very Crisp). The barrel address is slightly light but fully visible under magnification. The wood is very goodplus with a pleasing natural color and 1 small loss at the bottom edge of the frame on the left side that is minor. The action is tight and the lifter not worn against inside of the frame with good bore. ’66 flat sidesare the transitional model between Henry’s and the ’66 and due to early frontier production are seldom found in good condition. This is a very authentic and pleasing collector’s grade flat side we would rate an 8 on a 1-10 scale that would be incredibly hard to improve. Note: You will find 100 Henry’s with blue before you find a flat side with blue remaining. (Antique) Est.: $15,000-$30,000
