Half stock percussion .50 caliber plains type rifle antiqued and decorated by movie studio’s for iconic movie “The Mountain Men” as used by Charlton Heston who starred in the film (1979). Stembridge tag penned byhistorian Walter O’Conner identifies on the front and has location #RP00190 on the back. Last sold by Little Johns at the auction of the Stembridge Arsenal Collection Lot 103 in 2007. Further documented by stills of Hestonholding it. 1 of 3 known to have been used by “Our President” and the other on display at N.R.A. museum also from the Stembridge Arsenal collection. The rifle is a Thompson Center Hawken style repro that gunsmithsaged, tacked, wore down and appear like an authentic mountain man gun of the 1850s. Est.: $2500-$5000
