Original English E & W Bond quarter stocked percussion fowler, 20 gauge with a 36” octagon to round Damascus steel barrel marked, “HOOPER SQUARE LONDON”. The shotgun is in fine overall condition with the barrelhaving turned an even brown patina with a full-length wooden brass tipped ram rod. The lock, tang, hammer and trigger guard are beautifully engraved and case hardened. The finely checkered delicate wood stock is invery good condition with sharp checkering, a blank escutcheon plate in the butt, engraved cross pin and ends with a smooth steel butt plate which retains significant blue finish. The action is crisp on this beautiful London shotgun. E & W Bond was a noted London gunsmith, located at the Hooper Square address from 1845-1861. Est.: $1,250-$2,500. (Antique).
