Sharps Model 1853 single shot rifle, .52 caliber, Serial #20753. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 26” octagon barrel with a German silver blade front and ladder style rear. The rear ladder sight is missing the elevator and cracked on one side. The metal surfaces have gone to dark patina with some light pinprick pitting on the barrel and areas of light surface erosion noted. The barrel flat is marked, “SHARP’S RIFLE MANUFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN.”. The side plate is marked, “SHARP’S PATENT 1852”, single trigger with the serial number on the tang. The smooth wood stocks are in good condition showing mars and compressions with a metalcap on the fore end, patch box on the right side of the stock and smooth steel butt plate. The rifle has a good bore, crisp action and legible markings. One of only 295 manufactured in this caliber, the rifleweighs a respectable 9.2 pounds. Est.: $3,000-$6,000. (Antique).

Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
