Unique vintage Buffalo Hunter’s cartridge belt, circa 1875 as featured in Gilbert, Remiger and Cunningham’s “Encyclopedia of Buffalo Hunters and Skinners”, Volume I, page 215. The piece is mounted on a customwooden display stand. The heavy duty rig has loops for two rows of cartridges, 40 rifle and 46 handgun/rifle cartridges. The dark leather belt is 5” wide and 43” in circumference with a 3” wide shoulder strap. A fender over the left hip is slotted for a holster or scabbard. An outstanding display that would look great with a classic Sharps rifle. The leather shows moderate age cracking and small losses. Est.:$2,500-$5,000.
