Robbins & Lawrence Model 1841 Mississippi rifle, .58 caliber, dated 1851 with an 1848 Peace flask by Batty and a period bullet mold. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 33” barrel, full-length iron ramrod,brass barrel bands, steel barrel band retaining springs and a mottled brown patina on the barrel. The side plate is marked, “WINDSOR VT 1851” and “ROBBINS & LAWRENCE US” under the hammer. The smooth wood stock isin good condition showing heavy use with dents and mars, brass hardware and an old crude repair behind the side plate. Sling swivels, brass patch box and a brass butt plate. The action is good and the bore isdark. The gun is complete with Western or Gold Rush changes, issued by Western Forts to wagon trains by order of Jefferson Davis, with double set triggers and Western sights. The flask is in good condition with a nicepatina, small dents and tight seams. The iron mold has good cavities and a brown patina. The lot was found together in a Salt Lake City collection.
