Winchester Model 1885 Hi-Wall single shot rifle, .40-60 WCF caliber, Serial #31324. The rifle is in very good plus to near fine overall condition with a 30” standard weight octagon barrel with a knife blade front andsemi-buckhorn rear sights. The barrel shows significant toning blue finish drifting to a plum patina with sharp edges. The receiver shows considerable muted case hardening as do the lever and breech block. A periodVernier style tang sight has been added during the period of use. The smooth wood stocks are in good condition with small mars and compressions consistent with field use. The butt ends with a smooth steel crescentbutt plate. The bore is good, the action is crisp and the markings are sharp on this desirable Hi-Wall circa 1889. Est.: $2,000-$4,000. (Antique).
