Engraved Colt Model 1878 DA revolver, .44 caliber, Serial #24853. The pistol is in very good overall condition with a 4 ¾” barrel. The pistol is finely period Nimschke style, New York engraved and has gone to an even silver patina. The front sight remains at its full height, while the hammer and trigger show dull case hardening. The back strap is inscribed, “TIBURCIO BECERRA 1892” with the lanyard ring retained. The pearl grips are in fine condition and fit very well. The pistol includes a Colt Factory letter confirming the barrel length and caliber, while listing the finish as blued and the grips as rubber. The pistol was shipped to Hartley & Graham of New York, New York on March 18, 1890 with two guns in the shipment. The lot includes a nice period hand tooled leather flap holster in very good condition. The bore is bright, the action works well and the markings are crisp on this finely engraved Model 1878 from the Ernie Sable Collection. Note-the pistol is purportedly one of a pair with the other also engraved and similarly inscribed. Est.: $3,500-$7,000. (Antique).

Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
