1864 U.S. Rifleman’s leather cartridge box marked, “G.N. MACHESNY U.S. ORD. DEPT SUB. INSPECTOR” and the manufacturer’s mark, “R. NECE” under the flap. The front has an embossed US in a circle. The pouch is invery good plus condition with brass hardware and the tin/steel liners intact. The straps are intact, the seams are tight and the brass finial flap closure. A nice Civil War era piece with sharp markings. Est.: $400-$800.
