U.S. Smith & Wesson 1st Model Schofield SA revolver, .45 caliber, Serial #2776. The pistol is in very good plus overall condition with a 7” barrel. There are patent markings on both sides of the barrel lug.The pistol shows significant blue turning to plum patina with clear, crisp markings and muted case hardening on the hammer and trigger. The smooth wood grips are very good with a good cartouche on the left grip. The butt is marked, “U.S.” and shows some light knackering and small mars. The bore is bright, the action is crisp and the markings are very good on this desirable martially marked Schofield, circa 1875 from the ErnieSable Collection. The pistol is a strong 7.5 on a scale of 1-10. Est.: $3,000-$6,000. (Antique).
