Fine cased pair of English flintlock dueling pistols signed Jover London with his gold cartouche at the rear end of the barrel. Measures 14 ¾” in length with 9 1/8” octagon barrels of .62 caliber smoothbore with large proportion. Sighted barrels with set triggers. The pair are stocked in good quality checkered walnut that are nicely checkered. The pair remain in original fine condition with almost all of their original finishes remaining. The barrels retain 95%+ tobacco brown and striped finish. 75%-85% case colors on locks and breech fading slightly to gray. The trigger guards show 80%-90% thinning original bright blue. The stocks are also fine with sharp checkering and minimal aging. All original flintlock parts and two period ramrods are included (One brass tipped and 1 horn tipped. The horn tip is a shortened replacement. The pair are cased in a partition style box with green felt lining. The exterior of the case is black lacquer with gold decoration in orientalist motifs. Case contains flask, 2 rods, screwdriver, oil bottle, patch cutter, but no mold. The case shows age however somewhat later made in 19th or 20th in England. Est.: $5,000-$10,000
