Pair of Ornately Inlaid Wheelock Pistols showing armory marks on the barrels. This pair originally made in early to Mid-17th century and inlaid in the 19th century probably by Spitzer. The locks are completeincluding chain and springs. The inlay work is top quality and very profuse with Saxson style crests at the centers of the butt. Correct style ramrods with bone tips to match. The condition is very good plus with96%-98% inlays intact and only small imperfections. Measures 24” overall with 15 ¼” octagon barrels of approximately .56 caliber smoothbore. Provenance: Theodore Dexter catalog of Albert Foster collection(Former President of Colt Firearms) early 1950s where he is pictured with this pair. (Antique) Est.: $6,000-$12,000
