Flintlock Jaegar rifle with fancy gilt bronze mounts circa 18th century signed in hallmark on barrel “A Lauterbach”. Shows Hapburg type eagle at the tang with portrait in oval along with fancy engraved and gilt cast brass work. The rifle was European restocked probably in the 19th century with well raised carved scrolls and figures. Early style flintlock (About 1750) with correct hammer and parts. Minor pitting and erosion on thelock and barrel with some fresh rust in need of T.L.C. Lock works well. Bone fore endcap (Replaced) with brass tipped rod. Measures 44” overall with 27” barrel of approximately .60-.62 caliber rifled bore. (Antique) Est.:$1500-$3000
