Germanic style Wheelock rifle with fully and finely inlaid stock by Spitzer circa 19th century. The lock and barrel are genuine to the late Wheelock era showing enclosed wheel. The lock is nicely engraved with scrolls and figures that are worn down. The bone inlay is high quality and shows game scenes, plaques and geometric designs. The inlay is 98%-99%+ intact. Matching ramrod tip and well forged trigger guard. 1 lock screw ismissing and mechanism, spring, and chain are intact. Patina finish with some minor pitting. A very good looking Wheelock that was decorated over a hundred years later than its manufacture when redecorating greathalls of Europe and castles in the 19th century. (Antique) Est.: $2000-$4000
