Early Germanic Flintlock Blunderbuss showing “Banana Shaped Lock” circa about 1710-1750. Flared iron barrel measuring 28” in length and the gun is 43 ¼” overall. The barrel is made in 2 stages, octagon to round and flares to 1 ½” across the barrel to inside walls. The arm is high quality of manufacture showing raised carving, molding around mounts and two tone ivory ebony star at center of cheek piece. Nicely engraved lock and mounts. All original flintlock parts and working well retaining period ramrod. The condition is very good plus with minor aging on the metal showing some beginning erosion and pitting but sharp and crisp with originalbright surfaces and no cleaning. The stock is also very good plus with sharp and high carving and thick butt reminiscent of 18th century Kentucky makers. (Antique) Est.: $2000-$4000
