Pair of coat size pistols by Pattison Newton Limavady I T R L (Ireland). Circa about 1824. 1 pistol is in original flintlock and its mate is converted to percussion. Measure 8 ¾” overall with 3 ¼” heavy round barrels ofapproximately .56 caliber smoothbore. Iron mounts with silver plaque inlaid in the left side in front of the lock screw engraved “W J”. Double silver bands with gold inlaid maker’s cartouche. Very good originalcondition with brown patina and very good stocks. Note: Interesting the owner only converted 1 pistol probably a cheapskate or practical matter as he may not have trusted the new caps or been able to purchase them.(Antique) Est.: $1000-$2000
