Exhibition Quality Remington Rolling Block Shotgun fully and finely engraved showing American eagle on the breech and banner inscribed “E Plurbis Unum”. The side of the action shows game scenes as does the triggerguard. The barrel has “E. Remington & Sons” in gold and “S.H.G.” Initials for Schuyler, Hartley, and Graham. Measures 48” overall with a 30” barrel of approximately 16 GA centerfire. Marked “Remington” on the tangwith last patent date 1866. Hinged trap in the butt with two compartments for 2 shells. The wood is select grained and remains in near fine condition with minimal handling and slight normal age. The metal condition isfine to excellent also with slight aging only crisp action with bright bore. The engraving is superb and the quality of Gustave Young or Nimschke’s best work. Last sold Gene Herrick collection late 1980s to early 1990s. (Antique) Est.: $5,000-$10,000
