Medium Weight Half Stock Percussion Plains Rifle with “Joseph Golcher” marked lock circa about 1840-60’s. Measures 58” overall with a 40 ½” barrel of approximately .42-.45 caliber rifled. Large “V” stamp behind therear sight which is a large squared “U” notch and the front is missing. Dark patina with scattered erosion and light to moderate pitting. The stock shows natural striping and some small losses of wood but generally good overall. The action cocks but does not hold and the triggers do not work. The type that went west in the gold rush and mountain man era. (Antique) Est.: $250-$500
