English Brown Bess .70 caliber flintlock musket with “GR” cypher and crown at the center of the lock. Lazy “S” side plate circa approximately 1780 with large swell to the fore end and revolutionary war era stocking.Measures 55” overall with a 9” barrel. The metal is in the black with correct and matching flintlock parts. The stock shows a large break off and loss at the front and some other cracks and damage. The lock workswell. The back ¾ of the stock is good with normal aging and imperfection. “F 7” and other markings in the stock. From the era of the American Revolution and an early 3rd model. Period ramrod retained.
