Revolutionary War era European flintlock military musket with brass mounts. The lock is marked but not decipherable and may be Germanic or Hessian. The plaque in the wrist is engraved “BNO 37” and the butt is engraved in the same style block letters “7 ½ BR” over “1 Ld BAT”. Lazy “S” brass side plate usually thought to be 1770s-80s. Brown patina with cleaning on the lock but otherwise dark brown with all flintlock parts. The swivelshave been removed and correct rod retained. There are repairs around the lock plate and tang is bent up. The lock is a period association that was used with this musket but is earlier and probably armourerassembled. Some other losses and small areas of damage. We sold this musket more than 30 years ago for a Revolutionary War collector’s estate. (Antique) Est.: $1400-$2800
