U.S Model 1795 Musket Type III by Springfield Armory marked “P.M.” over “R S” and 1817 on breech of the barrel directly behind the lock (Refer Flayderman 9A-009). Original flintlock configuration with all correctparts and as issued condition retaining correct ramrod and sling swivels. Measures 55” overall with a 40” barrel. The markings on the lock are crisp and fully legible with full eagle at the center. The metal surfacesare very good plus and a dark patina with very minor rust and erosion. No marks on good to very good stock with some small losses and minor imperfections. A solid 8 on a 1-10 scale and a key Springfield being the 1stU.S. Model made at the armory.
