Early 18th Century flintlock blunderbuss with 3 stage brass cannon barrel signed “G. Taylor” on both the lock and barrel with British proofs circa late 17th to early 18th century who was known for his naval arms.Shows unbridled frizzen and banana shaped lock with long point rear, 3 screws to hold the lock with no escutcheons or side plate and other early features. The condition is very good plus overall with sharp engravingon the lock and barrel. The stock is also very good with some losses around 1 pin hold and just minor wear. All original flintlock parts and correct style rod which is probably the original. Works well and the barrelengraving is excellent at the rear end of the barrel. Measures 31 ½” overall with a 16 ½” heavy cannon type barrel flared at the end of approximately 1 ¼” to the inside walls of the bore. An early and quality blunderbuss by a good maker with a great barrel. (Antique) Est.: $2000-$4000
