U.S. Model 1816 Flintlock Musket in .69 caliber arsenal converted to percussion replacing breech and adding drum and bolster. The stock is carved in the left rear of the butt “R14H”. Unusualy high and straight topto the hammer which may identify arsenal on the conversion. The condition is fair overall with the lock markings not visible and some pitting and erosion and the breech end of the barrel. Large restoration are to the woodbehind the hammer. Shows old cleaning and minor restoration many years ago. Some traces of markings not quite discernable. The lock is working and the correct style ramrod. The stock is almost god other than the mentionedrestoration and some damage and losses at the band spring on the right side. Many of this type musket in southern armories when the Civil War begin. Last sold in Fred Slayton collection by Little Johns in the 1990s. Histag on fore end cap. (Antique) Est.: $300-$600
