Half Stocked Percussion Plains Rifle stamped “J. Beck” engraved banner on medium weight octagon barrel secured by two keys. “Golicher” marked commercial lock. Measures 56” overall with a 40” barrel ofapproximately .36-.38 caliber rifled bore. Brass disk type patch box and plain brass mounts. Double set triggers. The metal is uncleaned and shows a dark “as found: patina. The lock cocks but doesn’t hold and hetrigger is working. The rear barrel key and ramrod are missing. The tang is broken across at the front screw. The stock is good with a small loss of wood behind the lock at the top and otherwise normal aging. The Beckfamily were significant Penn.
