Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor rifle in .45-70 caliber, S/N 435055 with “GA” marking above the butt plate possibly state of Georgia National Guard showing mostly visible “SVW” cartouche and 1889 date along withBuffington rear sight. Non-Springfield ramrod of the period. Traces of blue within a brown to gray patina with scattered rust and erosion which should clean well. Good eagle and lock markings. The action is tight andthe bore is good plus to very good. The stock shows dings, mars, and scratches but generally good to very good overall. (Antique) Est.: $350-$700
