Flintlock fowling piece signed “J.A. Kuchenreiter on the lock and fancy silver inlaid barrel showing his trademark in oval cartouche. Richly stocked in light colored wood with some burl showing elaborate andwell executed raised carving in scroll design. Plain gilted brass mounts with horn fore end cap. Measures 52” overall with a 37 ½” barrel of approximately .60 caliber smoothbore about 20 GA. Shows all originalflintlock parts and would date late 18th century about 1780. #1 on the tang. Rack number 18 probably from a castle or nobles’ armoury. The condition is fine to excellent showing minimal aging and minorimperfections. Kuchenreiter was a top tier maker to the Hapsburgs and other Royal families of Europe. (Antique) Est.: $2000-$4000
