Double Barrel Civil War era shotgun marked “B. Cocke Richmond, VA” on both locks and “London” marked barrel. Measures 43 ½” overall with a 28” barrel of 10GA showing a great deal of firing and use. Tag #19 on butt from Fred Slayton’s confederate arms collection last sold by Little John’s in early 1990s. Fair to good overall condition with uncleaned dark brown to black patina finish and scattered light to moderatepitting and erosion. The markings are very legible on locks and barrel. The stock is good with fairly crisp checkering showing matching wear and use. The action works well. Period ramrod. The barrel is loose on key. A recent reference work on these secondary use confederate arms has just been published but Fred Slayton was ahead of the curve seeking them out 40-60 years ago in hands of soldier’s descendants, (Antique) Est.:$700-$1400
