U.S. Springfield Model 1816 .69 caliber musket dated 1839 and converted from flintlock to percussion with nipple screwed directly into the barrel and hammer added. All features as standard on this model withcorrect bands and ramrod. The breech shows pitting from heavy firing and the metal is otherwise good overall. The stock is good and shows hole drilled above the trigger into lock area purposely. A dovetail for sight isfiled into the barrel but missing. The lock works well. Last sold Fred Slayton collection of confederate arms in the early 1990s. Many of these type arms were in armouries at the beginning of the war or converted to use.(Antique) Est.: $400-$800
