Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle in .38-40 caliber Studio shortened and marked “20 Cent. Fox” on the bottom of the frame, S/N 185632B. The round barrel has been shortened to 20” and magazine tube has beencrudely altered to “Button Mag” by studio workman also breech marked 5 in 1 for 5 in 1 blank and polished to bright. The condition is fair with minor pitting and erosion and some dinge and mars in the wood. The actionis working and the bore is poor from a lot of blank firing. The consignor note states “Win 73 used by Dan Duryea but memory is it was used by Dutch the other bad guy”. Last sold by Little Johns in the 1990s in lot of studio marked arms and also note many universal arms end up at 20th Century Fox and Stembridge. No further documentation available at this time but possibly identifiable from stills and was probablyused in many classic 1950s-60s westerns. (Antique) Est.: $1500-$3000
