Sharps Carbine Model 1859 Conversion to .50-70 caliber, S/N C8860. Brown patina overall with generous blue and case colors mixed in (at least 30%-50%). Some scattered light erosion and just beginning pinprickpitting. Good lock markings but none visible on the barrel. Sight shows Lawrence and patent dates. The stocks are very good with normal aging and some bumps and mars. Good cartouche at the left center of the buttplate “D.F.C.” The saddle ring was removed long ago but bar is retained. The bore shows some roughness and erosion but may clean well. (Antique) Est.: $1400-$2800
