C.S. Richmond Musket reduced to carbine length dated 1863 with good lock markings. No proofs on the barrel. Brass butt plate. The stock is carved with initials “M.T.”. Measures 40 ½” overall with a 24” barrel.Dark brown patina and some scattered light to heavy pitting. The heavier pitting on the face of the lock. The wood is missing behind the hammer and around the tang from cap burn and use. The stock has been cleaned lightlywith steel wool. A period ramrod has been shorted to match. The lock works well. Last sold the Fred Slayton confederate arms collection by Little Johns in the 1990s. (Antique) Est.: $1000-$2000
