Rare Gibbs patent Civil War breech loading .52 caliber percussion carbine by “Wm Brooks New York” (Refer Flayderman 9B-054) where he states “Only about 1,052 completed and 500 issued to Missouri Cavalry and lesserquantities to 13th and 16th New York Cavalry”. The metal surfaces are a crisp bright metal with good marking and minor staining, light rust and age. The stocks are good but stained dark from oil. A light “J”is carved in the right of the buttstock. Bright bore and mechanically operational. A strong 7.5 on a 1-10 scale. Hard to obtain. All authentic carbine parts retained.
