Fine pair of percussion dueling target Pistols gold inlaid on the barrels “Carl Berger in Tirnau” with gold “1” and “2” and fancy gold line and border at the breech. The locks and mounts are ornately scrollengraved with deluxe engraved side plates as an added measure of decoration. The stocks are nicely checkered and a light colored maple with good grain. The locks and mounts are French gray and the striped barrels havea cut in the metal false Damascus pattern that can be felt like a nail file. Measures 16” overall with 8 ½” barrels in .52 caliber rifled. The pistols are in fine to excellent condition. Mechanically crisp and sound.French style cased in green felt with fancy border. Correct mold, matching wood on combo tool, mallet, rod, horn flask, accessory box, powder measure, and 2 rod tips all fitted in case and original to this set. Veneered burl wood exterior to case of a complimenting light color. The exterior of the case is very good with minor warping to the lid and aging. An exceptional set in extraordinarily good condition and complete. (Antique) Est.:
