Linder style breech loading carbine marked patent “March 29, 1853” on the breech. Measures 37” overall with a 22” barrel in about .60 caliber rifled bore. Has distinct European styling and pre-production prototype features and his Civil War patent which is more refined is dated 1859 and marked same way on the breech. The condition is good overall with normal aging and slight cleaning. An intriguing and very early breech loading carbine that should be further researched. (Antique) Est.: $1000-$2000
