Flintlock pistol signed “Bujti” on the lock and “Bustin Dui” on the barrel. Measures 17 ½” overall with a 11” barrel of approximately .64 caliber smoothbore. Nicely chiseled steel mounts, lock and barrel. Stocked inselect “Fiddleback” or striped walnut with quality raised carving and molding. The lock is chiseled in forms of serpents and pierced. The butt cap shows a helmeted warrior with elongated nose and figures of winged demonsalso raised in chiseled work. The breech end of the barrel is chiseled in scrolls surrounding a vignette with a bust inlaid in copper of the same figure on the butt with pronounced nose almost in character. The lock is chiseled in scrolls with roller on frizzen circa approximately 1790-1820s. All original flintlock parts and metal in good to very good condition. The stock is good also with minor losses and a few stress cracks.Cocks and works well. The ramrod is small and a replacement that is too short. A nicely decorated pistol with a famous Spanish name on the barrel that looks Sardinian to Baltic or Albania. (Antique) Est.: $1750-$3500
