American “D” Guard Cavalry Officer’s Sword circa 1770-1812 with simple brass guard, grooved wood grip and 35 ½” slightly curved blade measuring 1 ¼” wide at widest portion of blade. The blade shows heavy pitting(Further indicating of American forged manufacture as poor steel pits badly). Hilt and grip are good with normal aging and wear. Gregory T. Fisher purchased this sword from Harry D. Berry Jr at Baltimore sale about1990s by his notes. Est.: $1500-$3000
